2nd Shift: 11:30AM - 9:00PM (Monday - Friday)

***starting at $17.50/hour based on experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

Due to our continued growth, Reconext is currently seeking a motivated Security Guard to join our team in Grapevine, TX. Under general supervision from the Security Manager, this role provides protection and routine security services to ensure the safety of individuals and company property at assigned facilities.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Security Guard will have responsibilities in the following areas, with reporting duties as directed by the Security Supervisor:

  • Document incidents clearly and review reports prior to submission.

  • Coordinate and conduct security-related training.

  • Enforce company security, safety, and evacuation policies.

  • Act as a liaison with internal departments and external agencies regarding security matters.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local security regulations.

  • Coordinate emergency responses.

  • Maintain lost and found items.

  • Explain security procedures and instruct employees and contractors as needed.

  • Assist during safety drills and direct emergency evacuations until first responders arrive.

  • Inspect and maintain security equipment.

  • Secure building areas by locking and unlocking doors at scheduled times.

  • De-escalate incidents and physically escort individuals off the property when necessary.

  • Monitor areas after activities, documenting any property damage.

  • Respond promptly to emergencies, applying basic first aid, CPR, or other procedures and requesting additional support when necessary.

  • Assist with building evacuations, ensuring occupant safety and providing clear instructions.

  • Monitor TV and audio surveillance systems, notifying designated personnel of any emergencies.

  • Edit and label equipment according to guidelines.

  • Audit surveillance systems regularly, reporting any issues or required maintenance.

  • Conduct daily surveillance of the parking lot, monitoring traffic flow.

  • Monitor access points, alarms, and cameras across all locations.

  • Work weekends, holidays, nights, and overtime as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Texas Level II Security License.

  • Flexibility to work any shift and days, including weekends.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to produce clear and accurate incident reports.

  • Ability to respond promptly and drive safely in various conditions.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and deductive reasoning.

  • Good observational skills and memory recall.

  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated.

  • Knowledge of security rules, regulations, and procedures for assigned facilities.

  • Familiarity with facility layouts and emergency resources.

  • Knowledge of safety precautions and basic first aid.

  • Ability to enforce rules firmly yet reasonably.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions clearly.

  • Ability to demonstrate alertness, good judgment, and trustworthiness.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is primarily performed in a company office environment.

  • Occasionally required to lift items up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent wrist and finger manipulation due to computer tasks, calculations, and filing.

  • Regular use of office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copy machines.

  • Must be capable of standing and sitting for prolonged periods.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education is a plus.

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in private security, military, or law enforcement.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Clean criminal history.

  • Knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and best practices.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Proven ability to handle emergencies and make decisions under pressure.

  • Proficiency with security-related technologies and systems.

  • Security management training or certification preferred.
