Engineering Technician I


Position Summary:

The Engineering Technician will enhance the profitability of the company as part of an Engineering team supporting all technical aspects of our customer’s products and related repair processes. The Engineering Technician I will create value by assisting the Engineers in applying fundamental disciplines to the understanding of our customer’s product(s), and innovating original and effective process solutions for diagnostics and repair.  Once established, these practices are to be maintained, refreshed and further refined as our customers and their requirements continue to grow and change.


Responsibilities/Duties:

• Assists in analyzing customer products and designing test and screening methods.

• Participates in the development of procedures, work instructions, and other documentation as required to support Engineering and Production.

• Supports new product and new process introduction by installing equipment, validating tests, performing pilot runs, loading part numbers,      validating packaging, and other related activities.

• Performs Engineering Preventive Maintenance tasks as required.

• Performs test line, process, and procedure audits.

• Runs various reports to track volume, productivity, and direct labor and equipment use.

• Assumes responsibility for any issue requiring Engineering assistance by addressing the issue directly or by elevating the issue to the appropriate      Engineer or Supervisor.

• Aids in implementing ECO’s, ECN’s, and any other change documentation.

• Is capable in the operation and use of all necessary test equipment and instruments.

• Interprets mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, product and equipment specifications.

• Receives guidance from Engineers and more senior Technicians.


Job requirements

Education/ Work Experience:

• An Associate degree in an applicable Engineering technology or equivalent technician experience or military technical training.

• Entry level Technician – none required but any work experience, especially that involving the disciplines or products specific to the position, is a plus.
