Position Summary
The CDL Class A Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles to move trucks, trailers, equipment, and materials between local company facilities and customer-related locations. This position is based out of our Irving, Texas facility and works closely with the Shipping and Receiving, Warehouse, and Operations teams.
Work Schedule
The anticipated schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Schedule may vary based on business needs, delivery requirements, and operational priorities. Weekend or overtime support may be required occasionally.
Responsibilities/Duties
Safely operate company trucks and trailers for local transportation, trailer movement, and delivery needs.
Move trucks, trailers, and materials between company facilities and designated local locations.
Prepare, verify, and maintain receipts and documentation for loads picked up or delivered.
Load and unload trucks using safe material handling practices.
Operate a forklift as needed to support loading, unloading, trailer movement, and warehouse support activities.
Secure cargo using appropriate blocks, straps, ropes, or other approved methods to ensure safe transport.
Maintain accurate truck logs and required records in accordance with company, state, and federal regulations.
Maintain regular communication with supervisors, Shipping and Receiving, and warehouse teams to receive delivery instructions and updates.
Perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Assist with general warehouse, shipping, receiving, and trailer yard support as needed.
Follow all company safety policies, DOT requirements, and site procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job requirements
Education, License, and Experience
Valid Class A CDL required.
Tractor-trailer driving experience required.
Forklift certification required, or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving environment preferred.
Three to six months of related truck driving experience required; one year or more preferred.
Local delivery, yard movement, trailer positioning, or short-haul experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Technical school or related training preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and DOT requirements.
Ability to safely load, unload, and secure materials for transport.
Ability to operate a forklift and assist with basic warehouse or Shipping and Receiving duties.
Strong attention to detail when completing logs, receipts, and delivery documentation.
Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, warehouse teams, and other departments.
Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Ability to work independently while following company procedures and safety expectations.
Flexibility to support changing business needs, schedules, and delivery priorities.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to safely perform both driving and warehouse-related duties. The employee must be able to sit for extended periods while driving and must also be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. The role may require entering and exiting trucks, trailers, and warehouse areas throughout the workday, as well as loading, unloading, and securing materials as needed.
