Job description
Position Summary:
The Process Engineer will enhance the profitability of the company as part of an Engineering team supporting all technical aspects of our customer’s products and related repair processes. This role places an emphasis on applying Industrial Engineering principles to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize process flow. The Process Engineer will create value by applying fundamental engineering discipline to the understanding of our customer’s product(s) and innovating original and effective process solutions for diagnostics and repair. Once established, these practices are to be maintained, refreshed, and further refined as our customers and their requirements continue to grow and change. Must have previous Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing or high-volume operations environment.
Job requirements
Responsibilities/Duties:
Analyzes and understands customer products and product failure modes and mechanisms to develop effective methods for detection and repair.
Develops and optimizes processes using Industrial Engineering methods (time studies, standard work, line balancing, etc.) and applies process flow theory principles.
Designs and conducts effective experiments, organizes, analyzes, and presents data clearly with actionable recommendations.
Identifies inefficiencies, waste, and bottlenecks in systems and processes using root cause analysis and lean tools.
Recommends and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Functions with some autonomy and establishes unique expertise in a new area of opportunity.
Owns projects or parts of projects from start to finish, including continuous improvement initiatives.
Develops budget requirements for project elements and associated materials.
Plans project element timelines with critical checkpoints.
Works under the guidance and direction of more senior team members.
Provides guidance to more junior Engineers.
Communicates concepts and project status to other team members and engineering management.
Interacts comfortably with customers and OEMs on specific issues with existing projects.
Education/Experience:
Possesses a BS, MS, or PhD degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics, or meets the alternative prerequisites as stated for Associate Engineer.
Two years as an Associate Engineer, or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering field related to the specific purpose for hire.
