Position Summary:

Our Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for outlining and implementing training programs to educate and inform the workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters.
  • Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
  • Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
  • May participate in the training of workplace safety officers.
  • Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor.

  • Safety team 1st Aid training and blood borne pathogens
  • Monthly Building inspections
    •       1st Aid materials
    •       AEDs
    •       Fire Extinguishers
    •       PIV logs
  • R2 stream BOL mass balancing
  • R2 Downstream due diligence
  • Data Sanitization Validations
  • Vendor management and scorecards
  • Monthly legal audit compliance
  • Lock out and tag out verification logs
  • Environmental objectives tracking and logging actions towards goals and improvements.
  • PIP program evaluation and compliance
  • Ergonomics program evaluation and compliance
  • Health and Safety objectives tracking and logging actions towards goals and improvements
  • Aspects and Hazards evaluation and updates
  • Legal compliance monthly assessments
  • SDS updates


Job requirements

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA preferred in safety, engineering, or sciences.
  • 5+ years progressively responsible experience with supervising employees
  • 5+ years’ experience performing the safety or security function in a manufacturing environment OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Previous experience with compliances and audits for ISO9001, ISO14001 or ISO45000
  • Previous experience in R2 compliance and procedure is a plus.
