POSITION: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR – VRS

Position Summary:

The Business Development Director is responsible for acquiring and growing specific targeted new acquisition accounts in the Region, together with working in conjunction with counterparts in the other regions to drive global positioning where applicable. This position sells Reconext’s asset recovery and value recovery services using technical, organizational and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the services to their needs, resulting in revenue generation. This role provides leadership in developing and executing the ambitious Sales & Marketing strategy, in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of Reconext. It also assists the Vice President Value Recovery Services Director in the ambitious and successful growth of the company in general.


Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Leverage contacts within the 3C’s industry and beyond on certain VR / ITAD prospects, to identify current service needs to regional based potential customers, utilizing existing relationships and sourcing fresh leads, via partnership relationships to maximize business opportunities.
  • Develop high level customer relationships for Reconext in close cooperation with, VP-Sales and other functional areas of the organization.
  • Establish relationships with the key decision makers within the customer’s organizations.
  • Utilize Reconext tools and processes, to lead the successful identification, qualification, pursuit and closure of new business opportunities within APAC region.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on the creation of service offerings, RFI/RFP responses, and pricing proposals, with clear value proposition and differentiator from competition.
  • Develop business cases (with support from Sales Operations) on prospective accounts in preparation for Reconext executive level reviews and updates.
  • Provide knowledge and lead potentials to the Commercial team, responsible for market selling of the various commodities as applicable and available.
  • Create strong and long-term customer relationships with forward looking development plans by working with decision makers and understanding customer’s key internal and external success drivers.
  • Establish and pilot co-sourcing partnership initiatives, aimed at growing the business.
  • Works closely with the VP Sales VRS, Operations and VP of Marketing and Strategy to define new business models for clients and partners
  • Monitor and communicate latest market and competitor intelligence/ trends, to aid in fine-tuning Reconext’s strategy.
  • Able to sell services on multiple commodities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job requirements

Education/ Work Experience:

  • Preferably Master's Degree or equivalent in Sales and Marketing or job related field.
  • Requires an Account Management executive with a minimum of 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a global / international environment and position.
  • Must have the ability to bring immediate credibility to the function through their professional qualifications and leadership skills, as well as project the highest level of integrity.
  • Must be a “true hunter” establishing and identifying opportunities via research, partnerships and self-generation
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction – sets demanding & visionary goals
  • Ability to effectively communicate, motivate and influence their peers and staff – show the drive for results.

  • Working understanding of asset recovery, ITAD and storage related products, ranging from Hybrid HDD’s ,Generic HDD’s, SSD’s.
